The short answer

Delivery day is easier to navigate when you know what to look at and what to record. Prepare an arrival plan before the home travels, using the seller's and carrier's instructions as the starting point.

Arrange the people and paperwork

Decide who will be present and who is authorized to sign. Keep the approved specification, delivery instructions, carrier contact, and reporting deadlines available. If you cannot attend, give the person helping you a clear description of their role.

Ask how much time is allowed for the agreed inspection and what happens if access or weather limits what can be checked.

Look safely and document clearly

Walk around accessible areas when the carrier says it is safe. Photograph the overall condition and any specific concern. Inside, follow the agreed process for looking at visible finishes and fixtures. Leave roof access, electrical testing, and other hazardous tasks to qualified professionals.

Record the date, circumstances, and any area that could not be inspected. Keep original photographs rather than relying only on compressed copies sent in a message.

Separate delivery condition from commissioning

A visual arrival inspection is different from testing systems after utility connections. Arrange the appropriate professionals for hookups, verification, and any required inspections. Ask who will address a concern discovered at each stage.

If you notice damage or a mismatch, follow the reporting procedure promptly and seek written instructions before making changes. Good records support a review but do not by themselves determine fault or coverage.

For a Snake River Tiny Homes home, discuss this process alongside delivery planning. A prepared handoff gives you room to enjoy the arrival while still attending to the details. Confidence on that day comes from knowing what to check, what to record, and what happens next.
