How much should I budget for a tiny home?

The short answer
Your tiny home budget should follow the project all the way to its intended use. The home is the central purchase, but the destination creates additional questions that deserve their own estimates.
Separate the major budget categories
Start with the configured home and selected factory options. Then create separate entries for transportation, taxes, permit or approval costs, site preparation, utility connections, and insurance. Include access features or other installation work your particular site requires.
For each entry, record whether you have a confirmed quote, a preliminary estimate, or no figure yet. This is more useful than combining everything into one total that appears precise while some pieces remain unknown.
Give each task an owner
Ask who is responsible for arranging and paying for each part of the project. A seller, transporter, electrician, site contractor, and local authority may all have different roles. Clarify those roles before scheduling work.
If a quote uses a phrase such as setup included, ask for the task list behind it. Positioning, leveling, anchoring, steps, and utility connections should each be understood rather than inferred.
Leave room based on actual uncertainty
Review which costs may change as information improves. Obtain local quotes for the largest unknowns and discuss a reserve appropriate to your project. There is no single percentage that fits every destination or construction scope.
Revisit the budget when the configuration changes. An added feature can affect the home amount and may raise related delivery or installation questions.
At Snake River Tiny Homes, bring us your configured-home questions and your destination information. We can help clarify the purchase while you collect the local estimates. Confidence comes from seeing the entire plan, including the work that happens after the home leaves the factory.
