The short answer

Ask about the home's structure, weather protection, insulation, mechanical systems, inspections, and written specifications before choosing a tiny home. Request answers for your exact model and options. Then confirm how the design relates to your destination, intended use, and the site work that other professionals must complete.

What Supports the Home?

Ask how the chassis or structural base, floor, walls, and roof work together. Which materials and assemblies are specified? What design information is available for wind and snow conditions? Who can explain the requirements for supporting and anchoring the home at its destination?

Ask which tasks belong to the manufacturer and which belong to your site contractor. Transportation readiness, placement, leveling, anchoring, and utility connections are separate responsibilities that should be identified in your project plan.

How Is the Home Protected From Weather?

Ask about the roof, siding, window and door installation, flashing, and treatment of exterior penetrations. How is bulk water kept out, and what maintenance does the exterior require? Ask how plumbing is protected for the conditions in which you intend to use the home.

Request the insulation specifications for the roof, walls, and floor. Ask about windows, air sealing, ventilation, and moisture management as a complete system. A single insulation number does not describe how comfortable or efficient the finished home will be.

What Equipment and Service Access Are Included?

Ask which heating and cooling equipment, water heater, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and electrical components are included in your model. What utility service will the home require? Which connections and related work must a qualified local contractor provide?

Discuss access to filters, valves, panels, and equipment that may need maintenance. Ask how the manufacturer tests the systems before delivery and what operating manuals come with the home. Useful answers help you understand everyday ownership as well as construction.

Who Checks the Work?

Ask which inspection and certification program applies, which construction stages are documented, and what records identify your specific unit. Request an explanation of any changes made after inspection and how they were handled.

Snake River Tiny Homes models carry NOAH+ certification. Our certification guide explains the role of construction documentation. Local placement and occupancy permission remain separate questions for the authorities responsible for your property.

How Are Changes and Problems Handled?

Ask how selections become part of the final order and how a requested change affects price, availability, and schedule. What happens if the delivered home differs from the agreed specifications? Who handles a reported concern, and what does the manufacturer's written warranty cover?

Keep your approved selections and final specifications with the purchase documents. Review our warranty questions before signing so that construction promises and service terms are clear.
