The short answer

A dealer helps you select and purchase a home built by a manufacturing partner; a direct manufacturer constructs the home and also sells it to you. Compare equivalent home specifications, complete costs, written responsibilities and support. Either approach can provide a good buying experience, depending on the company and your needs.

How is a dealership different from a manufacturer?

A manufacturer builds the home and provides the applicable manufacturer's warranty. A dealership helps customers evaluate models, make selections, understand the purchase agreement and coordinate next steps. Some manufacturers also sell directly; buyers should compare the actual services offered rather than assuming one model is always better.

Does Buying Direct Automatically Cost Less?

No. Compare written proposals for matching home specifications, standard equipment and upgrades. Include transportation, taxes and site expenses unless they are specifically included. Neither a dealer nor a direct manufacturer is automatically the less expensive choice.

Look at the services and written responsibilities as well as price. For our specific buying support, see Why Buy Through Snake River Tiny Homes?.

What support can a dealership provide?

A dealer may help explain layouts and upgrades, provide pricing and purchase documents, coordinate with lenders or insurers, and organize delivery communication. Ask which services are included and who remains responsible after delivery.

At Snake River Tiny Homes, buyers can use Build and Price to customize a park model tiny home and receive an estimate. Our family-owned team helps customers throughout the continental United States work through financing information, delivery planning and manufacturer warranty questions.

How can I evaluate a dealership's reputation?

Look beyond whether a company builds homes itself. Check independent reviews, BBB information, clear manufacturer identification, written specifications, purchase terms, certification documentation and warranty responsibilities.
